”SUSWORK a very promising Bio tech company from Waterloo Ontario which convert (i) Co2 ( from GHG emitters) in methanol and (ii) Biogas from Agri|Food|Domestic Waste in Bio methanol has been awarded by Valorisation Carbonne Quebec in top 5 of 100, based on technology validation, GHG reduction and commercial visibility. A first demo site about 35 tons of Co2 per day will be set up in partnership with a petroleum company. Infranext is proud to have SUSWORK in its Advisory Portofolio. Infranext received great interest from North American industries (cement groups, food companies, power developers etc.,) and municipalities. The process has been also very well received in Shanghai to convert municipal landfills to bio fuel. Major gas & power companies are also very demanding to add bio fuel in their green energy mix.
Compared to all existing technologies ( Gasification, Syngas, Bio Gas, Pyrolysis etc. ) the process is 100% clean, low capital intensive and very much efficient :
1 ton of CO2 = 2 tons of CH3OH
5 tons of organic waste = 1 ton of CH3OH
10 tons of trash = 1 ton of CH3OH
At 450 $ per ton of CH3OH (World Energy pricing agreement) + carbon credits ( CER) + tipping fees ( if biogas) , the business model and payback are very much attractive, the resource ( Co2 & Bio gas) is unlimited and the Bio-methanol demand is growing up worldwide. Compare to incineration & waste to energy solution the process does not require any electricity connection etc, the reactors can be implemented everywhere from a Co2 or biogas sources. The process being chemical, performances are very much predictable, and the solution is entirely duplicable.
